Truth and Understanding

People who know the truth of God are free even if they they think they are bound. People who ignore the truth of God are bound even if they think they are free.

Most believers struggle to apply the freedom Christ provided them in their everyday lives, Paul tells us in Galatians 5:1:

"It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."

Now Paul is talking about the law and the Old and New Covenant.

But the reality is that we were slaves to sin until the application of the work of Christ in us by repentance, then we became free. The evil one tries to keep us trapped, in our minds, in slavery but believers are truly free. The door to the prison of sin is removed the blood of Christ.

Remember feeling free as soon as Christ was trusted and sin was forgiven?

Unbelievers laugh at believers because they think we are bound and they are free. Free to do what ever they please, whenever they please. The reality is that their freedom is a fantasy because the deeper into sin you dive the more bound you become to its chains. Eventually all you can do is sin.

"Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." (Genesis 6:5)
